You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
- 1-3 years of full-time professional experience in graphic design.
- Experience with Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Experience with Canva, Asana, and Figma is a bonus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under quick deadlines.
- Flexibility and ability to juggle multiple high-profile projects.
About the Program:
WRI and WRI Africa are looking for a consultant - junior graphic designer to join our creative team and produce a wide range of print and digital materials that will build your skills and work on real-world projects that matter for people, nature, and the planet.
Job Highlight:
Reporting to Creative- Global Director, you will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, and will work with both the Global Creative Director and the Africa Director of Communications and Engagement, and Outreach design team to launch projects and then work with program staff to see those projects through completion. You will be able to work within our design workflow and be required to know Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite. This position requires very fine attention to detail and an ability to juggle multiple high-profile projects at the same time. This is a contract role for the 6 months with the possibility of extension and conversion to a full-time role after the contract completion. This is subjected to your performance and availability of funds.
What will you do:
- Work within the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
- Create, lay out, and manage reports, issue briefs, brochures, and other print materials based on a templated system
- Build graphics for blogs, social media and printed materials
- Build and design presentations in PowerPoint
What will you need:
- Education: You have a completed bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
- Experience: You have 1- 3 yr of full-time professional experience
- Experience with Canva, Asana and Figma would be a bonus
- Ability to share creative and new ideas while being open to feedback on these suggestions
- Ability to work through multiple iterations of each project
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals
- Flexibility and the ability to work under quick deadlines
