You have:

  • A university degree or master’s degree in information technology or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree in IT Operations, Software Development, Security, or related experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years for a master’s degree in IT Operations, Software Development, Security, or related experience.
  • Varied experience working with security applications such as anti-virus.
  • Good knowledge of the Windows operating system.
  • Good knowledge of the Android operating system.
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 tools.
  • Ability to assist in the development of vulnerability management processes and workflows.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Work Location Gaza, Jordan

Expected duration 6 to 11 months

Duties and Responsibilities The consultant will be responsible for the support of the digitalization of education in all UNRWA’s fields in the area of cybersecurity. The consultant will work on the following activities: - Being the main security focal point for education, including new projects, as well as existing systems. - Researching the best practice and recommending solutions for new systems. - Responding to security incidents. - Working with users on the resolution of security issues. - Actively searching for security issues through log analysis and configuration review. - Security monitoring of alerts. - Working with Office 365 security tools and the alerts they generate. - Analyzing the root causes of security alerts and optimizing the configuration. - The implementation of technical controls to address security risks, including, but not limited to the deployment of anti-malware software, the implementation of mobile device management solutions, specification, and implementation of secure configurations to laptops and phones. - Support for the organization-wide security awareness program. - Involvement in the vulnerability management process.

  • Perform other duties as may be required.

    Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications:

¿ A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience:

¿ A minimum of 5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years for a master’s degree in IT Operations, Software Development, Security, or related experience. ¿ Varied experience working with security applications such as anti-virus. ¿ Good knowledge of the Windows and Android operating systems. ¿ Good knowledge of the Office 365 tools. ¿ Ability to assist in the development of vulnerability management processes and workflows.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - “Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate”, or other Microsoft certifications. - Previous experience in monitoring Office 365 alerts. - Previous experience in incident response or security monitoring

Contract Conditions

¿ The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds. ¿ Remuneration for this consultancy will be $1,592.60 and depend on fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience. ¿ The incumbent will be in Gaza, Jordan. experience working with security applications such as anti-virus.

Languages ¿ Fluency in spoken and written English.

Additional Information UNRWA is in the process of digitalizing the education system in all UNRWA’s fields. 20,000 teachers and 500,000 students received IT tools and access to IT systems that support their educational activities. The modernization project continues with the development and deployment of new software systems and an increase in the number of users of existing systems. Cybersecurity is an important component of this activity.

The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to the Senior Information Security Officer at Headquarter Amman.
