This includes 1) building capacity of policymakers and key education stakeholders in developing ICT-CST, 2) capacitating national TEIs in designing/enhancing and implementing the teacher training curriculum, drawn upon the national ICT-CST, 3) developing an appropriate competency assessment and recognition system and/or assessment guidelines based on ICT-CST, and 4) developing implementation guidelines for ICT-CST. Moreover, as a result of COVID-19, strengthening teachers’ digital skills, their capacity in developing and delivering lesson plans and activities for online/blended teaching and learning as well as supporting students and assessing their progress, and Training of Trainers (ToT), among others, are key needs in the region. **MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau for Education and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section Inclusive Quality Education (IQE), the incumbent will undertake the following tasks: Within the framework of UNESCO Bangkok’s work on strengthening ICT teacher-related policies, digital skills and competencies, including in online and blended teaching, and as part of the work on “Enhancing National Capacity to Foster Digital Citizenship Education in Asia Pacific” and “Transforming Teachers’ Capacities in ICT in Education in Lao PDR” projects, among others: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES --------------------------------- 1\. In consultation with the relevant UNESCO Bangkok teams and in coordination with relevant Field Offices, provide necessary technical advice and feedback on countries’ outputs and/or other requests, and ensure timely implementation of activities, particularly on teacher-related policies, digital skills and competencies. 2\. Continuously communicate and monitor progress of project implementation with national counterparts. 3\. Coordinate, organize, and facilitate national workshops, and provide expertise on integrating ICT-CST within the teacher training curricula, developing competency-based assessment mechanisms and implementation guidelines for ICT-CST. 1. Enhance training modules for and share expertise, along with the necessary templates and tools; 2. Provide a policy perspective of how ICT-CST can be assessed and implemented; 3. Guide national workshop participants in enhancing/developing a policy guideline/criteria of procedures and mechanisms in introducing ICT-CST as part of assessment of teachers and the implementation process of ICT-CST. Long Description ---------------- 4\. Maintain and update the online “Guideline for Competency-based Teacher Training Reform to facilitate ICT-Pedagogy Integration” () that provides Member States a step-by-step reference for developing and implementing national ICT-CST for teacher development, training and assessment. 5\. Coordinate the development of sample lesson plans for online and blended learning for teachers’ use in the region within the framework of the education response to COVID 19. 6\. Consolidate and design a ToT package for piloting in the region based on ICT-CST, inclusive of relevant samples, resources, activities, etc. This should also take into consideration the new requirements regarding online and blended teaching and learning due to COVID 19. 7\. Draft various Concept Notes, Calls for Proposals, Terms of References and other documents. 8\. Coordinate the work of other consultants hired under this component, review their outputs, provide feedback and guidance. 9\. Co-organize and/or contribute to various sub-regional and regional events related to ICT in Education, teacher’s digital skills and ICT-pedagogy integration. 10\. Manage project documentation, report on progress, achievements and outputs.
