How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work:

Under the supervision of the Partnership Specialist, and in close interaction with Communication staff and the Social Policy and Education Programme (including PEP+’s trained staff at DPSSF, coordinators and technicians, preschool-teachers, nurses and young DPSSF interns), the consultant will be responsible for using expertise and state of the art software and hardware to provide design services and produce high quality products according to UNICEF needs. This includes:

a. Producing high-quality visual materials for UNICEF’s advocacy, documentation and fundraising work, following UNICEF’s guidelines.

b. Producing high-quality visual and written materials, sensitive to socio and cultural contexts, within PEP+’s national expansion process (6 districts and RAP) in user-friendly templates (families, children and Youngs).

c. Supporting the development of high-quality didactic materials relating to objectives and training modules, in order to orient PEP+’s trained technicians, focal points, front line workers through PEP+ families’ visits or focus group sessions.

d. Conceptualize and produce high-quality visual graphic design and layout of the “PEP+ KIT” materials for national front line workers (protection, education, justice, health) and young PEP+ volunteers. The PEP+ KIT includes: “Orientation Guide”; “Parental Education Manual”; Visual Flip Chart; Logbook; “PEP+ Trainers Certificate” T-shirt, Cap & Neck ribbon, Stickers, Pens, etc.

e. Producing high-quality materials adapted to print and digital communication products (e.g. microsite, social media, digital, TV and radio campaign).

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

Bachelor in Graphic Design Project; Illustration; Audio Visual Production; Multimedia; Communication Design; Interactivity Design;

Experience:

  1. At least five years of extensive experience in graphic design creation and production of infographics, photo editing, video editing to achieve organizational goals and objectives for a brand, business, agency or relevant organisation (including NGOs, UN agencies).
  2. Fluency in Portuguese (written and oral) is required, along with fluency in English (written and oral) – National dialect knowledge (Forro) is preferred (written and oral).

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
