You have:
- Advanced University degree in relevant field or First University Degree with additional years of work experience.
- Fluency in oral and written Spanish is mandatory.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in diverse program approaches including Climate/Resilience/Gender equality/Women empowerment.
- Experience working with international organizations, especially with WFP.
- Knowledge in management systems, including document management and standardization of experiences and best practices.
- Knowledge in WFP's Gender Policy and reporting processes, especially ACR and GAM.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programs, with good analytical, negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in Environmental Sciences, International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses. Experience with UN agency is an advantage. Experience in management systems is an advantage.
Language: Fluency in oral and written English. Fluency in oral and written Spanish mandatory.
Knowledge & Skills: Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong qualitative and quantitative skillsets are essential. Collaborative team player, action management, innovation, partnership, and client orientation are critical characteristics for the profile. Position to be based in Guatemala but with extensive travel to project implementation areas.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
JOB PURPOSE
The objective of the consultancy is to provide support to the Guatemala Office in the implementation of its resilience building programmes with focus on gender equality, women empowerment and age inclusion. While also actively participating in the creation of annual reports such as the Country’s Annual Report and the Gender and Age Marker annual report. The incumbent will join the Programme unit’s team in Guatemala City under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer for Resilience (Activity 4). The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Overall Resilience related: 1. Support the development of resilience projects and activities, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with WFP CSP 2021 – 2024, WFP Global Policies and other guidance. 2. Contribute towards the development of climate change adaptation and climate risk management projects, plans and processes, ensuring a cross-cutting gender and age consideration. 3. Support efforts to strengthen and enhance climate sensitivity and food systems approach throughout resilience projects with a gender approach. 4. Act as coordination point for SBS’s pilot project of personal resilience building (known as Project Fenix). 5. Participate in relevant trainings related to climate-change adaptation, environmental conservation, food systems, women empowerment, and gender equality, for resilience building and food security. 6. Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved resilience-building activities. Knowledge management: 7. Under the supervision of the Activity 4 Activity Manger, lead Knowledge management initiatives for the resilience, livelihoods, risk finance and food systems portfolio. 8. Act as a focal point in the improvement of the document management systems. 9. Act as a focal point and be responsible for the systematization of best practices and lessons learned of resilience-building programmes implemented by WFP. 10. Act as a focal point for the CO for the creation of Annual Country Report (ACR). 11. Coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities related to resilience-building, particularly as they relate to the ACR. 12. Participate in relevant trainings/ updates of relevant policies, formats and platforms related to ACR 13. Coordinate with the other activities the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on activities and results, including Annual Country Report and Gender and Age Markers monthly and annual reports. Gender specific: 14. Working in coordination with the CO´s Senior Gender Specialist, Act as a gender focal point in activity 4 (resilience activities, including EU- funded programme PRO-Resilience). 15. Act as an alternate focal point for the CO for RBP’s and HQ’s gender network. 16. Support the implementation, communication and evaluation of WFP’s Gender Policy. 17. Coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities related to resilience-building, particularly as they relate to the Gender and Age Markers (GAM) reports. 18. Participate in relevant trainings/ updates of relevant policies, formats and platforms related to the GAM tool and gender equality and women´s empowerment more broadly. 19. Co-represent WFP Guatemala and serve as technical focal point at UN inter-agency working group for Gender Results.
Cooperating Partners:
20. Contribute to managing partnerships with NGOs and other civil society actors through the coordination of FLAs and MoUs within the scope of resilience projects with a gender approach. 21. Contribute to implementing partners’ capacity strengthening in gender related matters, including the knowledge of WFP’s gender policy and the implementation of saving-and-loans community groups. 22. - Experience in diversity of programme approaches, in a variety of contexts, including Climate/Resilience/Gender equality/Women empowerment (minimum 1 year
- Experience in working with international organizations (especially with WFP), development partners, high-level authorities, local governments and/or civil society organizations (minimum 1 year).
- Experience in working within Latin-American contexts.
- Knowledge in management systems, including, document management and standardization of experiences and best practices.
- Knowledge in WFP’s processes and policies, especially Gender Policy.
- Knowledge in WFP reporting processes, especially ACR and GAM.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programmes, leadership and teamwork abilities, good analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.
