Duties and Responsibilities
Background: Every year, the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Jordan prepares an Annual UN Country Results Report to illustrate the UN collective contribution and progress towards the advancement of the national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country. As the principal reporting tool on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027 (UNSDCF), the 2024 report will document the status of UN system-wide implementation of the UNSDCF, emphasizing results, impact and transformative change over individual actions while aligning with UN standards for results-based, data-driven reporting. The primary audience of the UN Country Results Report rests at the country level. The Report will be shared with the national Government for information and accountability. It is also shared broadly with other stakeholders in country to ensure full visibility of UN results. The Report is prepared in a language and format accessible to different stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant is expected to work closely with the UNCT focal persons (FPs) including the Senior Programme Group, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) experts, Results Groups (RGs) and the Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) to complete the following tasks: i. Data Collection and Analysis Gather and analyze data from UNCT FPs and Results Groups, focusing on outcomes and outputs linked to national priorities. Ensure data alignment with indicators, baselines and targets to produce an evidence-based report. Collaborate with UNCT FPs and Results Groups to verify the accuracy and completeness of data used in reporting. ii. Report Drafting and Development Develop a structured, results-focused report that emphasizes the impact of UN interventions through ‘change language,’ detailing outcomes achieved over processes or activities; Highlight the results of completed interventions focusing on what has changed rather than what was done; Ensure the report incorporates clear linkages between output-level changes and broader outcome-level results; Showcase progress on strategic priorities, partnerships and the UN’s contributions to overcoming key challenges and seizing development opportunities. Incorporate lessons learned, best practices, success stories and recommendations for overcoming gaps and bottlenecks, improving coordination and enhancing the impact of UN interventions. iii. Feedback Integration and Refinement Integrate feedback from UNCT FPs and Results Groups, ensuring the final report meets quality and accountability standards. Submit a final document incorporating inputs, ensuring clarity, coherence and readiness for publication. iv. Visual Elements and Data Visualization Work with the UNCT Communications Group (UNCG) to develop and incorporate infographics, charts and visuals that enhance the report’s readability and data presentation. Ensure visuals are relevant, data-backed and enhance the narrative on the UN’s achievements and partnerships.
