BACKGROUND

Please briefly describe why the work is needed and the context. Since March 6th, 2020, Cameroon has been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. During this health emergency, vulnerable populations composed of; pregnant women, newborns, children and elderly suffer the most not only from the direct effects of the disease, but most importantly from its indirect mortality and morbidity. Today we are witnessing the 4th wave of the disease and Continuity of essential RMNCAAH services is a key pillar in mitigating the indirect effects of this infection. The 3 most affected regions in Cameroon are CENTER, LITTORAL AND WEST. This is why having a national consultant in Douala for the continuity of essential RMNCAAH services is mandatory for the success of the implementation of this Pillar 10.

DELIVERABLES

Offer technical support to WCO and MOH to ensure the smooth implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the 8 activities in the Cameroon action plan 2022 of the Pillar 1 of Phase 2 SWEDISH FUND (SIDA) PROJECT in collaboration with FHPai, WCO and AFRO. September 2022 to March 2023. Provide technical support to the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent and Ageing Health Thematic Working Group (RMNCAAH - TWG) concerning preparation and organization of its monthly coordination meetings till march 2023. Produce weekly activities report of RMNCAAH / FHP as well as compile the weekly reports of all colleagues of FHP and send to FHPai latest Sunday morning before 10am in view of the smooth preparation of the meeting of WR with Cluster heads every Monday at 10am. Participate in presence and or virtually in all meetings that involve the FHP as well as enlarged cluster coordination meetings of all staff with cluster head and WR. Routine Monthly. Participate in weekly meetings of the Douala field office. Represent WHO in all activities of FHP especially RMNCAAH organised in and around the Littoral region. Offer technical support and collaborate with the Focal person for reproductive Health in the Littoral region in order to boost their activities in the field and produce and share reports. Carry out any other related activity and assignment given by the FHPai promptly and completely.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND LANGUAGES

Educational qualifications: Masters degree in any of the following fields: Medecine, Public Health, Epidemiology, Sociology, Anthropology or any other related field.

Experience: 5 years

Skills/Knowledge:Quality reporting, oral and virtual communication, mastery of ITC

Languages and level required:Expert level of english and french.
