Its main goals are as follows: - Enhance networking and collaboration among teachers and educators in the Arab region - Foster environment conducive to spontaneous problem solving and knowledge sharing among teachers and educators Long Description ---------------- To facilitate the development of the Tarbiyah21 CoP and enhance its visibility for wide dissemination, specific objectives are as follows: - Facilitate a communication channel for networking and collaborating among teacher and educators. - Provide a platform for teachers and educators to seek for support in the areas where they are struggling, thus building up the capability of less experienced teachers and educators. Within the same framework, provide a platform for knowledgeable teachers and educators to share with others their expertise. - Provide a platform where teachers and educators can develop quality distance learning materials in the framework of open educational resources in their subjects. - Emulate the group dynamics among all teachers and educators in the Arab region but helping them to keep focus on their subjects. - Provide the opportunity for teachers and educators to have exposure of a variety of online technologies in order to support them in facilitating distance learning. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** ------------------------------- Under the direct supervision of programme specialist for basic education and literacy, the service-provider should fulfil the following duties and responsibilities: - Develop and establish the CoP platform: - Develop the principles and content of the platform - Teachers and educators can exchange ideas and share knowledge and expertize - Teachers and educators can create their own pages to upload their successful teaching practices which allow the public visit, such as teaching syllabus, PPTs and videos etc. - Teachers and educators can be divided into different groups by subjects or interested topics - Pilot the platform within a chosen group of teachers and educators - Finalize the platform - Provide at least one regional workshop to orient potential users on how to best utilize it - Develop training materials: manuals, a 5-10 minutes of tutorial video Long Description ---------------- - Develop and implement a communication plan to promote the CoP to regional teachers and educators - Develop promotional materials such as a factsheet, infographic or brochure etc. - Develop a social media campaign strategy in coordination with the communication officer and the programme specialist at UNESCO Beirut Office - Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan to track progress of the platform and also identify the bottlenecks it faces. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education** - Post-graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in education, social science, and related fields. **Work Experience** - A minimum of seven years of professional experience as a researcher and/or analyst and a good knowledge of Communities of Practice in the Arab region. **Skills/competencies** - Strong research and analytical skills, as well as a high level of technical writing skills. - Experience and good understanding of regional contexts and a clear understanding of communities of practice. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently within a complex and multicultural environment. - Capacity to deliver high quality results within specified timelines. - Strong and proven interpersonal and communication skills. **Languages** - Fluency in both written and oral Arabic and English is a requirement. **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
