UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF staff and offices globally in transaction processing of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Business Innovation and Support. GSSC drives a number of projects and initiatives aimed at reducing the administrative burden of field staff, increasing organizational efficiency and generating cost savings.

GSSC is looking for an experienced Project Management Consultant to support the establishing and streamlining project governance at the Centre.

How can you make a difference?

The Project Management Consultant will work in the Project Management Office and the consultancy aims to develop and deliver the following items:

• Help building out project governance: rules, policies and procedures that determine how projects to be managed
• Standardize processes, methods, and tools for managing projects
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the respective project documentation

This will involve (TOR):

Write a document about the overall Project Management process, including project classification, FastTrack path, procurement, legal and data governance.

Deliverables/Outputs: SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)

Write a document which is to be used for defining Business Requirement.

Deliverables/Outputs: Word or Excel document

Create a template that will be used by ICTD to expedite their Technical Assessment.

Deliverables/Outputs: Word or Excel document

Work with Technical team to create a central Lessons Learned database.

Deliverables/Outputs: Central database which can be filtered for future projects

Create a Project charter template.

Deliverables/Outputs: Word or Excel document

Create Communication and Risk/Issues Management Plan documents.

Deliverables/Outputs: Word or Excel document

Create Checklist for proper handover between stages (Tollgates, UAT, Release plan, Comm. Plan, handover to SQM/ICTD)

Create training procedures

This is a consultancy for the period of 6 months.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Systems Management or Information Technology, Project Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field is required
• Minimum 3+ years of project management experience in IT project management (medium-scale) with a proven track record of interfacing with multiple levels of the organization and successful project completion
• Excellent understanding of the Project Lifecycle and fluent project manager methodologies of PMI Agile, and PRINCE2
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
• Significant experience collaborating across multiple functions and working with operational SMEs, technical resources/ infrastructure, and architecture teams
• Excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) across multiple audiences with ability to influence others while working in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
• High motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication to deliver results within strict timeframes
