Since 2020, UNICEF in Serbia and the Ministry of Education (MoE) with the support from the European Union, have been implementing the project “Bridging digital divide in Serbia for most vulnerable children” with the overall objective to strengthen the resilience of the education system to equitably serve all children’s access to learning during times of emergency, with a particular focus on Roma children. After the initial adaptation of schools to distance learning in 2020, the Serbian educational authorities instructed schools to work on introducing a learning management system, as a central place where all online teaching communication and learning takes place. The authorities are promoting the use of the Moodle learning management system as "the only free system that fully enables the realization of quality online teaching based on a constructivist approach to teaching and which enables the application of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy".

Work Assignment Overview:

The purpose of this assignment is to perform installation and implementation of the Moodle learning system for up to 70 schools as a part of the central management of national LMS solution (My school platform).

Duration of the assignment: 10 July – 10 September 2023 (part-time, remote)

Task description:

  • Define the number and type of Moodle classrooms per school to be created,
  • Create Moodle classrooms for up to 70 schools as a part of central management of national LMS solution (My School platform).

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • University degree in Science (including Social sciences), Humanities, Technology/Engineering, Mathematics.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in using Moodle learning system as a teacher and as an administrator.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in installing and implementing Moodle learning system.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines through excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Sound judgement in follow-up on requests.
  • Good knowledge of Serbian and English languages.
  • Work experience with UNICEF and /or other international organizations would be considered as an advantage.
