Result of Service
The convening of the Youth for Disarmament Forum provides a unique platform for young people to voice their perspectives, share innovative ideas, and collaborate on solutions to global challenges, thereby harnessing the energy, creativity, and commitment of young advocates and fostering a new generation of leaders in disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control. Such a forum would not only amplify youth voices but also bridge the gap between young advocates and policymakers through an inclusive intergenerational/multigenerational approach, ensuring that youth perspectives are integrated into decision-making processes. The Forum would facilitate the creation of robust networks among youth advocates from diverse backgrounds, promoting cross-cultural, cross-regional, and cross-sectoral understanding and cooperation. These networks are essential for building a cohesive and sustainable global movement towards disarmament, as they enable the exchange of best practices, resources, and support among youth leaders. In support of the Youth for Disarmament Forum, the Project Consultant will be responsible for: a) Designing and implementing the first-ever Youth for Disarmament Forum in accordance with UNODA's youth outreach framework; b) Facilitating the creation of robust networks among youth advocates from diverse backgrounds, promoting cross-cultural, cross-regional, and cross-sectoral understanding and cooperation essential for building a cohesive and sustainable global movement towards disarmament; c) Enabling the exchange of best practices, resources, and support between youth leaders and policymakers through a multigenerational approach.
