**OVERVIEW** Grade : Parent Sector : Field Office Duty Station: Gambia (the) Job Family: Communication and Information Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : Up to 1 month Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 26-OCT-2020 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** The Regional UNESCO Office for West Africa (Sahel) based in Dakar, with support from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), is implementing a project in The Gambia to support Community Media sustainability and the advancement of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in the country. The project seek to provide support for the ongoing media sector reform in The Gambia by helping the Government to protect and promote freedom of expression, including freedom of press, access to information and journalist’s safety, as well as ensure a legislative environment favorable to community media sustainability.
