This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.
UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
For every child, hope..
UNICEF is committed to reducing its environmental impact including reducing greenhouse gas emissions from operations through improving energy efficiency and renewable energy use in-line with the United Nation’s target to reduce GHG emissions by 25% by 2025 and 45% by 2030, as well as sourcing 40% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025 and 80% by 2030.
To address resource consumption and improve data reporting of energy and carbon-emissions, UNICEF initiated the installation of Smart Energy Meters (SEM) across global offices. The aim of this initiative is to measure and manage energy and use the data measurements for solar design and implementation.
The Internet of Things (IoT) enabled Power Consumption Monitoring & Measuring (PCMM) devices would enable real-time monitoring of electricity usage for resource-use optimization and eco-projects benefits capturing. UNICEF will standardize the use of smart energy meters across all global facilities to automatically extract energy data thereby minimizing, if not eliminating, the manual data entry of energy consumptions into the already globally deployed data analysis and reporting EFAAT tool.
UNICEF will leverage the data for decision making, identifying gaps and opportunities for renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions. The project will be rolled out in phases and the scope of this initial contract is to cover the planning & implementation of the smart energy meters in 50 offices and facilities.
