How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of Digital Fundraising Officer, the individual contractor - Digital Fundraising will provide technical assistance in relation to implementing Digital Fundraising projects. During the contractual period, the individual contractor will be expected to work on Online fundraising campaigns to recruit pledge and one-off donors through new digital direct- to-pledge initiatives. There may be some circumstances that the consultant may be required to work on some ad hoc assignments related to digital fundraising.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital marketing and e/m-commerce and is obsessed with digging into digital and market trends. They will have a deep understanding of various digital media and marketing channels, testing methodologies, e/m-commerce platforms and online user experience. Individuals with a strong interest in current trends in digital trends and technologies are encouraged to apply.

Work Assignment, Expected Deliverable and Delivery Schedule:

The digital marketing consultant is expected to work on a full-time basis according to UNICEF working hours. Payment will be made on receipt of a monthly report showing progress made.

1. Assignment: Implement and optimize the UNICEF Pledge Campaign to acquire new one time and monthly pledge donors.

Expected deliverable 1:

• Develop new creative assets for the campaign using campaign analysis and results

• Actively optimize the campaign to ensure the best results and return on ad spend/investment

• Develop periodic reports & presentations on outcomes and performance for stakeholders in a business-friendly manner

• Lead & drive campaign strategy to improve on overall campaign performance

• Work closely with digital agencies to deliver new content and creative in a timely and effective manner

• Work closely with the Supply team and agencies to ensure a timely delivery of rings to donors

• Develop and collaborate with the Donor Retention team on communication journey to engage new donors acquired through the campaign

Delivery schedule:

• Bi-Weekly enhancements to campaign content and creative

• Monthly campaign performance report

2. Assignment: Provide campaign support to ongoing and new digital campaigns including the development of new content and creative to test and refresh creative and optimize overall performance and results to achieve monthly digital fundraising targets

Expected deliverable 2:

• Digital Box of Life campaign support

• Inspired Gift Campaign support

• Digital Direct-to-pledge campaign support

• Other digital fundraising campaigns including for Emergencies

Delivery schedule:

• Monthly campaign results against monthly targets for new one off and pledge donors.

3. Assignment:

Campaign strategy and development

Expected deliverable 3:

• Monitoring of digital marketing trends from other UNICEF offices and general market trends

• Recommend new campaigns and tactics to test that will help UNICEF continuously improve on digital performance

• Develop campaign briefs and projections

• Work with agencies to develop new concepts, creative and assets to implement tests

• Work with UNICEF Global to identify & activate new campaigns and tactics

Delivery schedule: Quarterly basis and some ad-hoc

Duration of Contract: 1 June 2023 – 31 May 2024

Duty Travel: This role will mainly work in UNICEF TCO. However, there may be some requirements for this consultant to in-country travel which UNICEF will be responsible for expenses.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University degree in Marketing or relevant field with additional training in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on direct professional work experience on the following areas: digital media or digital paid marketing (any sector)
  • Experience in any of following marketing areas: social media, web development, relationship marketing/e-CRM, search marketing, integrated media planning, and marketing communications.
  • Knowledge of marketing campaign management processes.
  • Computer literate, also fluency in written and spoken English and Thai.
  • Experience in working in the area of private sector fundraising for a non-profit organization is a plus.
  • Advance knowledge of Excel
  • Proven proficiency in the use of content management systems and analytics packages.

  • Service-minded, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
