You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Nuclear Education/Training or a related technical discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional relevant experience, including direct involvement in human resource development, nuclear knowledge and/or education and training activities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset
  • Experience of working in a national/international nuclear organization or institute is desirable

The Division of Energy Planning and Nuclear Information and Knowledge comprises the Planning and Economic Studies Section, Nuclear Knowledge Management Section and the Nuclear Information Section. The Division is responsible for strengthening capacities in energy and nuclear power planning, building capacities to manage nuclear knowledge and provide knowledge management services to interested member states, and to procure and provide printed and electronic information in the area of nuclear science and technology.

The Nuclear Knowledge Management Section assists Member States by developing methodology and guidance documents in nuclear knowledge management; implementing KM initiatives; facilitating sustainable education, training and information exchange in nuclear science and technology; and assisting Member States in maintaining and preserving nuclear knowledge.

Main Purpose

To assist the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a consultant in the development and implementation of NKM and nuclear learning and development activities, together with the methods and services for member states.

Functions / Key Results Expected

1. Review scope of INMA Curriculum with regard to expanding the nuclear technology (non NPP) scope and potential new topics – Medical Physics/nuclear research/nuclear waste/uranium activities/industrial nuclear activities etc. Develop suggested additional scope topics based on feedback from interested universities and align to current Tecdoc descriptions.

2. Develop content and resources for various pages of the Interactive KM Guide under the NKM Digital Hub, namely for:

  • Objectives of Knowledge Management
  • The Nature of Knowledge in Organizations
  • Knowledge Management FAQs
  • Barriers and Obstacles
  • Benefits and Success factors

3. Develop for the NKM Hub the specific content and details for the Educational Networks to include

  • Education Outreach catalogue
  • University glossary of nuclear courses (specifically associated with INMA and the Education & Training KMAV programmes)
  • Technical Vocational glossary of programmes in place to support nuclear developments

4. Complete the technical review of the TECDOC Educational Networks – Experiences Gained and Lessons Learnt, this will include reviewing the document for consistency/flow, identify and track down any missing permissions/citations and bring the document into the standard IAEA format and style.

5. Complete the technical review of the TECDOC Establishing HRKD Networks, this will include reviewing the document for consistency/flow, identify and track down any missing permissions/citations and bring the document into the standard IAEA format and style.

6. Complete the technical review of the TECDOC Tacit Knowledge Extraction, this will include reviewing the document for consistency/flow, identify and track down any missing permissions/citations and bring the document into the standard IAEA format and style.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 300, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
