    How can you make a difference?

The Programme Coordination Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking an individual consultant to support Thailand office on Burmese-English simultaneous translation for a series of virtual Zoom nutrition trainings.

Work Assignment:

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, the consultant will be supporting Thailand office on Burmese-English simultaneous translation for a series of virtual Zoom nutrition trainings as follows:

1. Review training slides and become familiar with the training content

2. Provide simultaneous translation Burmese to English and English to Burmese during the course of the training,

3. Follow any interactions, questions participants may have and relay them to the trainer and translate all communication where required between English speaking trainer and trainees.

End Product(s): English-Burmese simultaneous translation provided throughout the trainings as agreed with contract supervisor.

Duration of Contract: Estimated for 5 working days from 2 January to 28 February 2022.

Working Location****: The consultant will work home-based/ remotely in his/her own premises but will regularly report to the supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• A degree in communications, journalism, social sciences or a related technical field

• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in simultaneous translator Burmese and English languages

• High level and outstanding spoken and translating Burmese and English language

• Demonstrated experience in Zoom virtual simultaneous translation

• Prior work experience with humanitarian organizations or UN agencies is a plus

• Familiarity with UNICEF style will be desirable

• Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible attitude is desirable

• Familiar with children’s issues or social issues will be a plus
