Global PFP CODAS in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking an interim Fundraising Specialist to carry out specific fundraising support for the ECA PSFR Cluster starting in May 2023.

For countries with relatively small fundraising markets, UNICEF is introducing a multi-country approach called PSFR Clusters. The role will support the startup of an ECA PSFR hub in 2023. The role would thus be to support the transition to an ECA PSFR hub while providing Fundraising Specialism to the relevant Country Offices.

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent will translate the approved Private Sector Plan in Greece, Belarus and Bulgaria CO’s into pragmatic action plans, campaigns, operational support and establish functional infrastructure at the relevant timings, implement the plans and achieve the PSP targets.

They will

  • Lead the implementation of PSP plans in the related CO’s and translate the strategies into actionable plans and ensure the achievement of the PSP targets and investment criteria.
  • Implement face-to-face campaigns via local teams, conduct monthly calls and provide quarterly reporting.
  • Implement digital direct acquisition campaigns in related CO’s working closely with the assigned digital agency.
  • Map annual planning for telemarketing implementation in related CO’s. Implement the related plans.
  • Lead the implementation of the DRTV test in related markets working closely with the DRTV specialist.
  • Lead monthly meetings with the Communications team to facilitate integration.
  • Ensure relevant back-end infrastructure for both digital and DRTV testing.
  • Lead quarterly review calls with regional, global and CO teams.
  • Conduct a market assessment of fundraising results via missions to markets.
  • Assess and provide input into the financial technical meetings in relation to the back-end infrastructure needed for hub setup.

  • Upside Opportunities and Support Needed

4. Lead calls with MD and Regional colleagues for relevant CO: 1 call on CO results

By end of July 2023

5. Deliver 1 x report which outlines the achievement of gross revenue v PSP plan, KPI results v PSP plan and investment usage. It should include:

  • GR achieved by channel
  • Investment % used and remaining
  • Upside Opportunities and Support Needed
  • Implement DRTV test

By end of August 2023

6. Provide 1x report and evaluation on DRTV test

7. Provide 1 x summarized report on channel performance

By end of September 2023

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in one of the following fields is required: Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, Humanities, or another relevant field.
  • Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the following fields: in Private Sector Fundraising, Management or another relevant technical field is required.
  • Must have experience and understanding working in developing markets or for a UNICEF regional or country office.
  • The candidate must be a highly experienced fundraiser with proven success in the multiple deliverables of setting up a fundraising operation and infrastructure, building up and leading a large team to successful outcomes.
  • The candidate should be an experienced leader who has worked in complex or sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and translating abstract ideas or concepts into actionable steps.
  • Proven experience working in a multi-cultural environment and with cross-functional teams to deliver on common goals.
  • A strong understanding of UNICEF systems, processes, and operations of UNICEF regional and country offices is highly desirable.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required Knowledge of other UN official languages is a plus

Remarks: Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors.
