The consultant will play a critical role in managing ongoing communications and streamline the handover process of the Accelerate Lifecycle Marketing (ALM) project.

The consultant will provide a clear approach to ongoing reporting expectations, clarification of the means of ongoing support models, and review the approach to senior leadership engagement and communications. The outcome of this assignment will be a well-structured recommendation and roadmap on how to handover the ALM project to markets in a way that promotes continued learning, senior leadership buy-in and understanding, regional capacity building and support, and the management of ongoing performance reviews with the market.

How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work:

  1. Ongoing Management of reporting process with existing ALM Markets

a. Organization of meetings, data collection and reporting. Three-month post-implementation report for pilot markets.

b. Relationship management with the market that includes support to self-assess and identify areas for continued growth.

  1. Work alongside regional teams to refine capacity building needs in markets

a. Definition of market capacity gaps. Identification of solutions and next steps in partnership with regional and responsible hubs.

b. Refining the process of continued support for ALM markets after the project has been completed.

  1. Engagement Model for Senior Leadership

a. Manage communication with senior leadership to identify and promote interventions identified through the ALM project.

b. Recommendations on and definitions of senior leadership engagement in the project from a requirements and ongoing perspective.

Work Assignments Overview

  • The consultant will focus on providing Email Marketing and Marketing Journeys consultancy.
  • To manage ongoing reporting communications with ALM markets.
  • Prepare and deliver recommendations based on engagement with senior leadership and the regional office.

Engagement with Senior Leadership & Regional Office.

Expected outputs:

  1. Management and organization of communications process with senior leadership in markets and the regional office.

  2. Review of senior leadership management process and recommendation and roadmap on follow-up process to ensure capacity can be developed.

Deliverable 2: Email Marketing & Marketing Journeys in market 1.

By 31 May 2024

Expected outputs:

  1. Organisation and management of ongoing meetings with ALM markets

  2. Ongoing reporting and impact tracking

Deliverable 3: Email

By 31 May 2024

Expected outputs:

  1. Organisation and management of ongoing meetings with ALM markets

Deliverable 4: Roadmap for ongoing ALM engagement, By 24 June 2024

Expected outputs:

  1. Based on reporting review and stakeholder engagement, refine process for ongoing reporting and impact measurement for ALM.

  2. Recommendations on best practice moving forward.

  3. Three-month postimplementation impact report for pilot markets.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…


  • A first level university degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Non-profit or Business Management, or any other related fields is required, coupled with any other additional training and or certificate in a relevant field is an asset.


  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the areas of email marketing and end journey development is required
  • Demonstrated experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with specific knowledge across Journey Builder, Email Studio and Contact Builder is required.
  • Experience using basic html, AMPScript and SQL for email personalisation is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics and platform integration best practices is required.
  • Experience with digital campaigning using CRMs (ex: Salesforce) is required.


  • Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language, particularly Spanish, is an asset.

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above. If there is a need for business travel, the travel costs will be covered by UNICEF separately. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advance to the next stage of the selection process.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
