How can you make a difference?

The Communication Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking an individual consultant to write human-interests stories/articles about the situation of children in various issues, as well as other UNICEF-related work in Thailand.

Work Assignment:

In support of the Communication section planned activities, the consultant(s) will undertake the following work assignments:

  • Write articles, human-interests stories, and reports related to the situation of children in Thailand as well as other UNICEF-related work in Thailand. Production of material in the Thai language will be the main focus of the work carried out, but writing skills in both Thai and English would be an asset.

The consultant(s) will work closely with Senior Communication Associate. Briefing on UNICEF project background and related children’s issue will be provided before the assignment. Senior Communication Associate will also brief the consultant(s) on the type of outputs needed for each assignment.

Estimated Duration of Contract: 11.5 months with possibility of extension. Each consultant will work for approximately no more than 10 days per month. Payment will be made by the end of the month based on number of actual working days, number of pages of document, and submission of satisfactory deliverables.

Official Travel: At UNICEF-supported project sites and their own work stations.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Thai Nationality.
  • Excellent in writing with at least 8 years of experience especially in human interest stories.
  • Flexible to travel to other provinces.
  • Creative and easy to work with.
  • Familiar with children’s issues will be a plus.
  • Ability to write human interest stories in both Thai and English languages will be a plus.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
