Context and Purpose of the Consultancy:

UNICEF has developed an Oxygen System Planning Tool (https://www.unicef.org/innovation/documents/oxygen-system-planning-tool), an excel-based planning tool to help stakeholders plan their oxygen supply systems at the national, subnational or health facility level.

How can you make a difference?

The key task of the consultant is to develop and roll-out training for use of the oxygen system planning tool by UNICEF, partners and governments. The consultant will prepare the training and roll-out the training through a series of webinars for countries, to enable use of the tool to define essential requirements and supplies needed to respond to the current pandemic of COVID-19 and expand oxygen access. Standalone training and train-the-trainer packages will be developed.

Deliverables:

  1. Training developed for the excel-based Oxygen System Planning Tool
  2. Training dissemination plan developed
  3. Roll out the training via minimum three training webinars
  4. Train-the-trainer workshop package developed
  5. Direct training of new tool users & direct technical assistance with the oxygen system planning tool
  6. Case studies of training recipients developed for advocacy and communications

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Academic:

University degree in innovation, software development, engineering, public health or related discipline. Advanced degree (Masters) preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Experience developing and administering training packages
  • Experience in using excel-based tools
  • Experience with oxygen systems and health technologies desirable
  • Experience with product innovation desirable
  • Familiarity and experience of working with UNICEF and LMICs is considered an asset

Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • High level of academic technical writing expertise
  • High level of analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially excel
  • Knowledge of the environment in which UNICEF operates (i.e., global health sector)
  • Excellent communicator of verbal and written concepts to an international audience
  • Able to quickly understand instructions, to proactively seek clarification when needed
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • **Language Requirements****:

    Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
