You have:
- An advanced university degree (PHD or equivalent) in engineering, economics, environmental studies, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Experience of at least seven (7) years in collecting and researching data on circular economy.
- Technical knowledge of circular economy, climate change and sustainable development issues.
- Working experience of at least three (3) years in assisting in the provision of technical assistance to countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on circular economy and public policies related to circular economy, sustainable development.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision by the acting chief of PSDU, the consultant will provide technical support, through research and design, on activities related to circular economy, specifically on national strategies, governance, metrics and regulatory and financial instruments, related to the promotion of public policies for a better circularity within the region. As part of the assignment, the consultant will: Selects and evaluates a variety of documents, summarizes pertinent material, collects, and analyses data and prepares background materials for assessment papers, training activities, studies, briefs, and reports on circular economy and sustainable development. Prepares charts, graphs and other outputs for reporting and presentation of various data. Assists in formulating project proposals and coordinates day-to-day monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of these projects. Assists in supporting countries' alignment of national circular economy strategies with Sustainable Development Goals through technical assistance, training activities and applied research. Produces analytical, quantitative, and qualitative elements required for elaborating documents and reports in the regular work programme and extraordinary work assigned to the Unit. Researches, extracts and compiles basic information and technical data on specific programmes/projects and related topics and issues. Carries out preparatory work for and assists in organizing training activities (both online and in presence), seminars, meetings, and workshops. Liaises with relevant parties both outside and inside the Organization. Drafts and edits complicated, complex, and often technical texts. May undertake mission/fieldwork in support of the above activities. May provide guidance and support to more junior staff, review work assignments, and provide training and inputs to performance evaluation. Assists with collecting and analyzing data and preparing data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures Performs other duties as assigned.
