Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Background:

The Communication, Advocacy, and Partnership (CAP) section at UNICEF Kenya country office comprises of External Communication Unit in charge of external communication, advocacy, and partnerships, and the Social and Behavior Change Unit.

Given the increasing focus on the drought response and frequent disease outbreaks, it is a critical moment for the section to take stock of the achievement to date, gather lessons learned and propose strategies for the area of collaboration. The retreat will therefore be an important first step to renewing the team spirit and envisioning future work.

Objectives:

The objectives of the retreat are:

  1. to bring the team members closer for better cohesion, morale, and performance. This should be through i) fun activities, preferably outdoors, and ii) getting to know each other’s work style through personality analytic tools.
  2. to review the collaboration to date (what worked well and what can be improved)
  3. to build a vision for CAP contribution in the current country programme, taking into account the worsening drought situation and increasing disease outbreaks.

The retreat will be in three parts as per the objectives above. It will be conducted in person with protocols in place to mitigate the risks of COVID-19. This should be outdoors where possible, e.g. for meals and snacks. If indoors, this should be in a large, well-ventilated space.
