Overview

Produce and edit the 2021 Regional Office Annual Report for UNICEF MENA.

You have:

  • Advanced university degree in communications, journalism, languages, or social sciences.
  • A minimum of ten years of professional work experience.
  • An editorial experience with UNICEF.
  • Experience working in one or more countries in MENA is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of French or Arabic is considered an asset.

UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Office (MENARO) is seeking the services of committed professional Writers/Editors to produce 2021 Regional Office Annual Report.

The above document requires high quality technical writing and copy editing by experienced editors who speak English as their native language to ensure that documents are clear, compelling, consistent and Results Based focused. As the documents touches UNICEF programming cycle, the consultant should be familiar with UNICEF style book and UNICEF programmes.

To formulate the Regional Office Annual Report (ROAR) based on inputs from all programmes and available documentation ensuring that the ROAR summary narrative considers all the different analysis and documents and bring these together in one coherent accessible text which is adequate for external audiences.

Scope of Work:

The consultant will formulate the ROAR as well as editing of the outcome and output results narrative to ensure the contents follow the UNICEF style guidebook and meet the quality standard.

The Consultant will provide a finalized coherent ROAR 2021 and RAM in accordance with HQ’s guidance.

Consultancy Requirements:

Education:

  • Advanced university degree in communications, journalism, Languages, social sciences.

Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years of professional work experience
  • An editorial experience with UNICEF.
  • Experience working in one or more countries in MENA is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of French or Arabic is considered as an asset.

Applicants are also required to indicate availability and financial quotation in USD to undertake the terms of reference above.

Travel Considerations:

This is a remote/home-based consultancy, no travel is required.

Qualified candidates are requested to submit:

  3. Financial quote as a lump sum, inclusive of professional fees, travel/administrative/subsistence costs, if applicable
  4. Names of three referees
