The Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) of UNICEF covers the development, implementation and management of innovative, effective and secure IT integrated business solutions and technology infrastructure in support of the Organization’s strategic objectives.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst. The QA Analyst will work on a variety of ICTD Projects throughout 2022/2023 and will work under the supervision of the QA Manager, Cross Functional Capabilities and will play an integral role within the team to execute the automated test scripts. On a day-to-day basis, the person will actively work on developing and maintaining the automated test cases using Selenium.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and maintain the automated test cases using Selenium.
  • Execute the automated test scripts for the test cycles for the Project under test.
  • Enter defects in HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) where applicable.
  • Validate any defects that were identified during the various test cycles.
  • Review the manual test cases and the functional requirements.
  • Maintain the test data for data migration and training.
  • Maintain the test data for manual and automated testing.
  • Review the manual test cases and the functional requirements
  • Work with the system analysts and the business users to ensure complete test coverage

Skills and Qualifications:

Academic Degrees: Degree required; in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering is preferred.

Professional Experience: 5-8 years’ experience in a QA role with strong emphasis on testing and execution of Selenium test scripts.

Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree required; in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in working with an Agile development team to perform automated testing in parallel with continuous development.
  • Solid experience using Selenium Webdriver, Grid and Selenium Server experience, going beyond the Selenium IDE.
  • 5+ years of experience with Selenium frameworks like Data Driven, Hybrid Frameworks and Page Object Model.
  • Experience testing Web Services (SOAP and REST) using various frameworks and APIs
  • Experience with Mobile Testing (iOS and Android) using Appium, XCTest etc.
  • Experience in using CI tools like Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of UNIX commands, knowledge of SQL; ability to query and update database tables is desired.
  • Knowledge of Selenium with Python is a plus.
  • Experience with version control systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to multitask as multiple testing efforts run in parallel.
  • Must have excellent written/verbal skills.
  • 5+ years of technology experience.
  • Knowledge of Unified Functional Test (UFT) is desirable.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Additional UN languages will be considered an asset.

This consultancy will be remote based for a period of 11.5 months.

Evaluation Method:

Each applicant will be evaluated based on the cumulative analysis methodology (weighted scoring method), where the award of the contract will be made to the individual consultant or vendor whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:

  • Responsive/compliant/acceptable; and
  • Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of technical skills and financial proposal specific to the solicitation.

Technical Criteria weight: [70%]

Financial Criteria weight: [30%].
