Result of Service The consultant shall prepare the following: 1. Prepare 4 presentations on "Technical aspects of open data" in Arabic (as per PowerPoint ESCWA template). 2. Deliver presentations on technical aspects of open data, during the ESCWA capacity-building workshop in Palestine in Arabic

Attention is kindly drawn to the need to ensure that the final draft of the outputs be thoroughly reviewed prior to submission and to indicate the sources of tables and diagrams. References to reports and other substantive material should be clearly indicated within the text and noted at the end. It is also essential to send, with the completed output, photocopies - The consultant shall review and incorporate the comments and suggestions made by ESCWA into a revised version of the report and submit it to ESCWA 2 weeks later;

The total time to deliver the final output of the consultant spans 12 weeks beyond the date of the signature of the contract

Work Location Beirut

Expected duration 12 weeks beyond the date of the signature of the contract.

Duties and Responsibilities The consultant is required to undertake the following tasks: - Update training presentations, previously prepared in Arabic on technical aspects of open data with focus on Palestinian case, as per ESCWA template. This material will include the following (among other topics): 1. Open data inventory development (including data collection, classification, anonymization, documentation...); 2. Open data platforms; 3. Open Data Licenses; 4. Open data standards and interoperability; 5. Open data quality evaluation; The final list of topics will be identified in coordination with the consultant. - Deliver 4 sessions in Arabic on technical aspects of open data during the 1-day "Capacity building workshop on Open data", in Palestine. ESCWA promotes gender equality and integration of youth through its publications and therefore the consultant should pay attention, with the help of ESCWA staff, to gender considerations and youth dimension throughout the research work and thereby ensure that the narrative language should be gender sensitive.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree in technology, ICT, computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent field is required, a Ph.D. is a plus. Experience: 5 years of work experience in Open Data field, digital technology, and ICT applications is required. Experience in capacity building, training, teaching is desired. Language: Fluency in Arabic is required. Good knowledge of English is desirable.
