Work Location Beirut

Expected duration 4 actual workweeks. Total duration of contract: 2 months (8 weeks).

Duties and Responsibilities The consultant is required to undertake the following tasks: - Prepare training presentations in French on technical aspects of open data with focus on Moroccan case, as per ESCWA template. This material will include the following (among other topics): o Open data inventory development (including data collection, classification, anonymisation, documentation...); o Open data platforms; o Open Data Licences; o Open data standards and interoperability; o Open data quality evaluation; The final list of topics will be identified in coordination with the consultant. - Deliver 4 sessions in French on technical aspects of open data during the 2-day "Capacity building workshop on Open data", in Morocco, (tentatively 14-15 Dec 2021). ESCWA promotes gender equality and integration of youth through its publications and therefore the consultant should pay attention, with the help of ESCWA staff, to gender considerations and youth dimension throughout the research work and thereby ensure that the narrative language should be gender sensitive.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree in technology, ICT, computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent field is needed, a Ph.D. is a plus Experience: Experience in Open Data field, digital technology, and ICT applications is highly desired. Experience in capacity building, training, teaching is desired. Language: Fluency in Arabic and French is required
