How can you make a difference?

Objective:

Support the scaling up of the ADAP Programme focusing on the access to skills development programme, Meshwary, and to the engagement portfolio focusing on the emerging climate change action plan in view of COP 27. The consultant will be facilitating coordination, programme implementation in the field, programme monitoring and documentation.

Methodology:

The consultant will be office based in UNICEF with regular visit to key stakeholders’ premises and at least 20-25% of the time in the field.

Under the supervision of the Adolescent and Youth Officer, the consultant will be working closely with the SBC & ADAP team’s members in close coordination with the other sections in UNICEF including Child Protection, Education, Social Policy, and Private Sector and Partnerships as well as the External Communication section (EC).

The consultant will be paid based on a monthly report approved by the Chief of SBC/ADAP Section on equally divided lumpsum.

Conditions of work:

  • The consultant will be based in UNICEF premises
  • At least 20% of the time in the field, availability to travel in country is needed

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University degree in social science or related fields/Masters’ degree in social science or related fields is a plus.
  • From 5-10 years of professional work experience in programme coordination in the field of development with focus on programmes involving young people’s skills development and participation.
  • Work experience in the field of adolescent and youth development with an equity, inclusivity, and gender lens.
  • Proven experience in working in or with UN programmes, international organizations, or NGOs.
  • Proven experience in working closely with government, (preferably with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and/or Ministry of Education) in programmes focusing on young peoples’ skills development and engagement.
  • Language requirement: Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
