The Quality Assurance (QA) Consultant is expected to provide QA services during the new releases, technical upgrades, and emergency fixes. The selected candidate is expected to have detailed functional understanding of ServiceNow platform and have extensive experience of working with various modules of Service Gateway (ServiceNow adapted to the UNICEF business processes). He/She will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing activities to identify defects, validate functionality, and ensure the overall performance and stability of ServiceNow software products in UNICEF specific environment.

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of this assignment is to outline the needs in Quality Assurance (QA) expertise specializing in testing ServiceNow software products adapted to the UNICEF specific business processes. The QA Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of new ServiceNow software applications, modules, and integrations.

The primary objectives include:

  • Conducting test planning, including defining test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
  • Executing test cases and documenting test results, including defects and issues.
  • Collaborating with development teams to reproduce and analyze defects, and providing detailed reports.
  • Assisting in the identification and implementation of automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and best practices.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Software Engineering.
  • 5 years’ experience in a QA with strong emphasis on manual and automated testing of applications adapted/ developed in UNICEF domain.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with test automation tools (for example UFT and/or Selenium, Cucumber, Maven etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience with testing of ServiceNow services adapted to the UNICEF specific business processes is required.
  • 2+ years of experience with the Azure DevOps platform in UNICEF environment.
  • Experience with testing of web-based applications is required.
  • Knowledge of UNIX commands, knowledge of SQL; ability to query and update database tables is desired.
  • Experience with version control systems is a plus.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages like Java/Python is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP is desired.
  • Must be able to multitask as multiple testing efforts run in parallel.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Additional UN languages will be considered an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
