The project aims to assist the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in developing as a centre for excellence in the conservation of Islamic arts and heritage and support the capacity building of the four participating museums, i.e. MIA, National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation (NMEC), Gayer and Anderson Museum and Manial Palace, for museum management and conservation. The project supports the conservation/restoration of approximately 60 Islamic objects at the participating four museums. The conserved/restored works of art will be put on display at an exhibition on Islamic Heritage in Museums in Egypt: MIA project. **WORK ASSIGNMENTS** --------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States in Cairo and the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) Museums Sector, and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialists for Culture, the individual consultant will copyedit the labels for the conserved/restored Islamic objects (approximately 60 objects) and manuscripts for a brochure (approximately 30 pages) on an exhibition on Islamic Heritage in Museums in Egypt: MIA project **in English.** In this regard, the consultant shall, Long Description ---------------- 1\. Copy-edit the labels of the conserved/restored works (approximately 60 Islamic objects) and the manuscript in English for exhibition brochure prepared by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) Museums Sector from a substantive viewpoint by verifying the following; 1. 1. Clarity of structure and meaning, continuity of arguments and flow of ideas, and avoidance of redundant content; 2. Internal consistency, in terms of both content and style; 3. Coherence between statistical data referenced in the text, and data in respective tables, figures and boxes; 4. Readability and professional writing style; 5. Detection and removal of plagiarism; 6. Gender and cultural/political sensitive language. 7. Check references cited, either in footnotes or in the bibliography, and ensure that the sources of all quotations, numerical figures, tables and figures are clearly indicated; 8. Verify heading/tables/figures numbering and align table of content page numbering with the body of document; 2. Submit draft copy-edited labels of the Islamic objects and the manuscripts for exhibition brochure to UNESCO for feedback from UNESCO based on MoTA Museums Sector feedback; 3.
