Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child....a Sustainable Future

Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

Coordinate the Digital Supply Chain Initiative open projects to ensure defined DSCI roadmap deliverables are met.

Scope of work:

The Digital Supply Chain Initiative (DSCI) is a high-profile initiative with extensive change management and system activities ongoing and continuing into the next OMP. There are a significant number of stakeholders internally and externally with still-forming requirements needing urgent coordination and clarification so that technical priorities can be established and undertaken with as much precision and efficiency as possible.

Progress to date has been slowed by competing pressures of parallel initiatives such as COVID response which is undermining the overall DSCI portfolio. Therefore, urgent placement of a capable (and UN-familiar) project manager with experience to plan and manage project rollouts is required so that momentum is achieved.

Technical skills in IT project management, user trials and training and integration are essential.

Interpersonal skills to interact with the supply community, ICTD and external stakeholders are very important.

Fast paced, autonomous work practices are essential.

Post-lockdown, the role is anticipated to be mostly in the offices of SD so that interaction with stakeholders is maximized. Nonetheless, duties can also be performed in a hybrid model of onsite and remote presence.
