Overview

Support development of COVID-19 and vaccines communications content

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in multimedia, communication, journalism, creative writing, politics, social science or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the area of digital and social media communication.
  • Ability to write clearly, succinctly and for varying audiences.
  • Experience analyzing digital platforms for insights to inform content creation.
  • Experience managing/moderating social media channels or online communities.
  • Experience creating a range of different content for social media.
  • An eye for clean, simple, and compelling visual design.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software (knowledge of Photoshop is desirable).
  • Accuracy and professionalism in the production and editing of documents and reports.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Knowledge of and interest in South Asia news and digital landscapes is an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.

UNICEF South Asia is continuously developing a wide array of digital communication products to showcase the COVID-19 situation in the region, highlight UNICEF’s ongoing support, showcase vaccine delivery through the COVAX Facility, build COVID-19 vaccine confidence, advocate for vaccine equity, and communicate with the regional community on COVID-19, vaccines and staying safe.

The Communication Section seeks to recruit COVID-19 & Vaccines Communications personnel to support the development of COVID-19 content and communications across all areas.

The main responsibility includes:

  • Researching and developing social media posts on COVID-19, vaccines, and COVAX.
  • Liaising with UNICEF sections, country offices, and HQ for fact-checking, feedback, and message coordination.
  • Collaborating on the development of TikTok videos on COVID-19.
  • Researching and writing articles for the UNICEF South Asia website.
  • Supporting video development and any cataloging of footage.
  • Supporting reporting on COVID-19 communications.
  • Sourcing photos and videos for content.
  • Supporting content administration tasks.
  • Supporting monitoring and managing of direct communications on ROSA social media channels.
  • Liaising with videographers, graphic designers, and content creators.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in multimedia, communication, journalism, creative writing, politics, social science or a similar discipline. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in in the area of digital and social media communication.
  • Ability to write clearly, succinctly and for varying audiences.
  • Experience analyzing digital platforms for insights to inform content creation.
  • Experience managing/moderating social media channels or online communities.
  • Experience creating a range of different content for social media.
  • An eye for clean, simple, and compelling visual design.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

PROPOSED PAYMENT SCHEDULE - Monthly

The proposed rate should be inclusive of all professional fees and should assume a full-time commitment.
