Driving change and advocating for children is leading DGCA story planning as stipulated in the Global Agenda for Action. DGCA will be producing content for our social media platforms that bears witness of the upended lives of children, hears from children themselves, proposes new solutions, and Reimagines a better world for children, as following HQ emergency campaign priorities.

UNICEF’s content (video/photography) is critical to its brand and fundraising efforts. Therefore, the expansion of UNICEF’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform, built on Cortex (OrangeDAM) software, is crucial to the production and distribution of quality compelling content materials from UNICEF’s country offices and sudden on-set emergency materials aligned to UNICEF’s brand.

UNICEF seeks the services of a Cortex (OrangeDAM) Software Implementation Specialist during a DAM platform expansion. This is a part-time, hourly, consultancy for UNICEF Headquarters in New York, under the supervision of the Digital Asset Manager in the Global Content Strategy Section, Division of Global Communication and Advocacy.

How can you make a difference?

The Cortex Software Implementation Specialist will be responsible for enhancements to the DAM platform by providing technical implementation, configuration, requirements analysis, and implementation strategies during the software expansion process.

Description of the assignment

-All assets: Data privacy policy implementation and consent management

-All assets: Activate a formal Retention Schedule

-Photo/Video assets: Secure copyrights, restrictions and embargos

-All assets: Separate terms of release from current visibility/access levels

-Journalism assets: Implement required fields

-All assets: Design guided journeys to assure retrieval

-All assets: Determine what DAM functions need to be centralized

-Incentivize Administrator usage of the DAM and share personal productivity stats reports

  • EDUCATION

    Requires a Bachelor's Degree, in a field related to in Computer Science, Library and Information Science, Communication, History or related fields.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 year experience with Cortex (OrangeDAM) software by Orange Logic
  • 8-10 years technical experience within digital asset management systems
  • Experience implementing enterprise software projects
  • Analytical thinker who can translate stakeholder/business needs into implemented solutions
  • Proven technical skills and detail-oriented
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

Technical Assessment Criteria (applications will be evaluated based on the following technical criteria):

Each Proposal will be evaluated against a weight allocation of 80% for the technical proposals and 20% for the financial proposal. The total maximum obtainable is 100 points. The minimum acceptable technical score is 49.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
