Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, an advocate

How can you make a difference?

- Coordinate the region’s BCR projects and provide direct oversight and technical support to the three countries implementing the BCR initiative (Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka), primarily, though potentially in other countries that request support.

- Be in charge of the monitoring and evaluation of BCR-related activities and reporting processes in the region.

- Document the BCR initiatives’ phases of implementation to capture good practices and lessons learned.

- Work closely with the Global BCR Coordinator to provide insights and contribute in the development of tools and guidance to equip UNICEF Country Offices and colleagues as they engage with business in support of disaster risk reduction (DRR), resilience and emergency preparedness.

- Promote the BCR approach at the regional level and at key events, and contribute in the development of regional business engagement strategies and action plans.

- Support inter-agency collaboration on business engagement in DRR, resilience and emergency preparedness at the regional level. For example, the BCR Regional Coordinator will be uniquely positioned to strengthen the collaboration between UNICEF and UNDP/OCHA on the Connecting Business initiative as well as with UNDRR on the ARISE initiative on business engagement, as well as with other regional mechanisms supporting disaster risk reduction.
