The PFP Business for Results (B4R) initiative was launched in 2018 as a whole-of-UNICEF approach to boost the organizational understanding and capacity to incorporate business as one of the key stakeholders to realize strategic results for children. The initiative aims to create a UNICEF in which the potential and relevance of business are mainstreamed into its considerations and decisions on how to achieve results for children, with the necessary ambition, knowledge, skills and resources in place. Within the B4R initiative, there are three key pillars: 1) Capacity Building and Culture Change; 2) Tools and Systems; and 3) Enabling environment.

How can you make a difference?

The Capacity Building project team is responsible for rolling out virtual learning workshops across UNICEF and aims to deliver to around 60 countries in 2021, facilitated by B4R master trainers who are UNICEF colleagues around the world nominated for their extensive experience in private sector engagement. As an important member of the project team, this consultancy is being established to support the Partnerships Officer and Partnerships Manager (Capacity Building) to deliver high quality training for countries across all seven regions in UNICEF.

MAIN TASKS

  • Provide technical and coordination support to assist the project team in delivering B4R workshops and related learning activities virtually.
  • Update the progress of each country office’s preparatory work on the project management system in a timely manner and share the summary of the updates during the weekly call with the team, flagging potential risks and opportunities when appropriate.
  • Set up communication platforms for B4R workshop participants, facilitators, and other key stakeholders to effectively communicate.
  • Archive all the materials relevant to the B4R workshop in a structured manner so that workshop facilitators can access necessary materials easily and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare necessary materials, backend assistance on the use of learning tools (mentimeter, zoom etc) to assist workshop facilitators to deliver effective workshops in the virtual world.
  • Provide any other necessary support assigned by the Partnerships Officer or Partnerships Manager (Capacity Building) and project team.

DELIVERABLES

  • Internal communication platform (MS Teams) for each CO is set up in a timely manner
  • All the B4R materials used during the workshops are archived in a systematic way
  • All the tasks listed in project management system completed in a timely manner
  • The project management system is kept up to date in a timely manner
  • The production of at least two or three infographics per month

ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL

4 months, fulltime, tentatively starting on 1 March 2021.

REPORTING TO

The Consultant will report to the Partnerships Manager (Capacity Building) in the Outreach & Engagement Team, based currently Geneva and working closely with the Partnerships Officer.

WORKPLACE

Teleworking, taking into account that there will be some calls with facilitators in different time-zones.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • First level university degree in international affairs, political science, business management, or relevant fields in the area of UNICEF work is required.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French would be an asset.
  • Relevant experience coordinating projects or training.
  • Experience and competence in using virtual learning and delivery tools is essential, including zoom and mentimeter.
  • Experience using team and project tools such as Teams and Asana is desirable.
  • Strong PowerPoint and excel skills.
  • Familiarity and skills in assisting virtual workshops and supporting facilitators is required.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
