Le Burkina Faso fait face à une épidémie de poliomyélite qui sévit depuis 2019. En réponse à cette épidémie, le pays a développé un plan de riposte basé sur trois axes principaux : 1) l'organisation de campagnes de vaccination de riposte dans les districts épidémiques ; 2) le renforcement de la vaccination de routine et de la communication sur la poliomyélite ; et 3) le renforcement de la surveillance des paralysies flasques aiguës. En 2022, le pays a obtenu des partenaires de l’initiative mondiale d’éradication de la poliomyélite (IMEP) un financement pour organiser une campagne de qualité en deux tours et pour renforcer les activités de surveillance et de PEV de routine. Le premier tour s’est déroulé en novembre 2022 et le Burkina Faso se prépare à organiser le second tour de la campagne prévue pour le premier trimestre 2023.

Les campagnes se tiennent dans un contexte particulier marqué par des défis majeurs notamment la situation d'insécurité qui freinent les activités, la recrudescence des refus de vaccination et des multiples rumeurs contre les vaccins, surtout en lien avec la vaccination contre la COVID-19. Au regard des défis liés à l’engagement communautaire et au changement social et comportemental en faveur de la vaccination, l’UNICEF a obtenu de l’IMEP un financement pour le recrutement d’un consultant international pour appuyer la coordination des activités d’engagement communautaire et changement social et comportemental

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Être titulaire au moins d’une licence en communication pour le développement, sciences sociales/comportementales (sociologie, anthropologie, psychologie, éducation à la santé) avec un accent sur la communication participative, la planification de la communication, l’engagement communautaire, la mobilisation sociale et la recherche participative.
  • Minimum deux ans d'expérience pertinente de travail dans le domaine du changement social et comportemental.
  • La maîtrise du français est requise et au moins une langue locale et une connaissance pratique de l'anglais serait un atout.
  • Des compétences avérées en communication, négociation, réseautage et plaidoyer sont requises.
  • La connaissance de l'environnement social, politique et économique de l'Afrique de l'Ouest serait un atout.
  • La capacité d'exprimer clairement et de manière concise des idées et des concepts sous forme écrite et orale est requise.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
