You have:

  • Having bachelor or master’s degree in civil, construction, structure engineering, or any other relevant field of study
  • Having minimum 4 years relevant work experience in construction projects
  • Having experience in implementing construction projects in communities, schools, and health clinics
  • Experience in using office use and technical drawings software i.e., MS office, AutoCAD, Google SketchUp etc.
  • Experience of working with multiple projects at a time
  • Experience of managing and dealing contractors at the fields level
  • Willingness to travel to project implementation areas
  • Good knowledge of the social and culture dynamics of the IRC intervention areas and is willing to work in hard-to-reach areas
  • Having the skills and ability to work within a team
  • Good written and spoken English and can speak/understand/write local languages

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Construction support manager will be performing the following activities:

- Provide support in collection of required data on WASH infrastructures for formulation of EH projects - Liaise with relevant government departments for data collection, acquiring technical support and for smoothly implementation of projects. - Provide constructive feedbacks on field teams’ estimations, designs and technical documents for procurement processes of projects. - Conduct and lead meetings with communities’ elders and people for facilitating projects implementation. - Conduct field visits to monitor progress and quality of construction activities. - Contribute to quality assurance and quality control measures of the projects’ activities. - Conduct meeting with government departments’ technical staff, contractors, CDCs and other stakeholders regarding the progress and quality of construction activities. - Follow up the procurement process of construction activities for field offices with supply chain team at field and Kabul level. - Provide support in provision of reports for construction projects to Government related departments and IRC Grants’ departments. - Liaise with Government liaison team for on time submission of reports to ministry of economy. - Support in drafting ToR and hiring consultant for performing consultancy missions. - Provide technical oversight to the development and implementation of WASH related assessments and surveys aimed to identify WASH needs. - Contribute to preparation of technical drawings, scope of works, terms, and condition for MSA and MPA tendering process relevant to Construction projects. - Lead MoU process for projects having construction interventions in coordination with the liaison team to ensure projects are started on time - Review collected and presented field teams bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of projects. - Contribute to ensure that all the construction projects are finished within the allocated time, budget, and scope. - Ensure that the field teams challenges regarding construction activities are timely addressed. - Conduct meetings with contractors to ensure on time completion of construction activities. - Conduct online meetings on bi-weekly basis with field teams for progress tracking. - Follow up with field teams to regularly update the Construction quality control checklists, progress trackers and submit progress reports. - Maintain good relations with relevant Government departments. - Perform any other duties as required or asked to do by the supervisor.
