An exciting opportunity to head up the Consortium Manager for a leading international NGO working in Oslo, Norway.

What we are looking for

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Consortium Manager to provide support to our teams In NORCAP Unit. The successful candidate will work within the team structure in NORCAP and will contribute to delivering on the NORCAP strategy, as defined in the team mandate and the social contract.

Specifically, the Consortium Manager will lead Consortium to “Improve Smallholder Resilience through Customised Climate Services” funded by Norad , in close collaboration with the climate services project team and consortium partners. The project aims to enhance smallholder farmers’ resilience and food and nutritional security in face of climate change by improving access to reliable climate information services to help smallholder farmers to adjust agricultural decisions.

What you will do

1. Lead and coordinate the establishment of the Consortium governance structure, including the development of legal documents and agreements
2. Ensure effective coordination and communication among consortium members, steering and technical committees, programmatic and finance/support teams across partners, donor, and other stakeholders.
3. Lead and coordinate joint baseline study for Malawi and Ethiopia during the inception phase and based on the findings complete the result framework.
4. Responsible for all aspects of project and grant management. This includes planning, budgeting, monitoring, financial and programmatic reporting, grant filing, partnership agreements, compliance with donor requirements, monitor progress and take corrective action as needed
5. Manage the consortium management’s unit’s budget, assets and resources.
6. Coordinate Steering Committee meetings and implement the agreed course of actions.
7. Coordinate with consortium members to ensure high quality implementation of activities, compliance with donor and consortium rules and requirements, and accountability to partners and end-users

What you will bring

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience within humanitarian and development sector.
• Master’s degree or equivalent (including proven work experience and skills) in relevant fields such as climate science, humanitarian and development studies etc.
• Documented results within developing and leading programs in the relevant thematic areas
• Experience from strategy work, fundraising, project management and advocacy.
• Experience from managing large projects, teams or consortia.
• Demonstrated professional experience in maintaining and developing partner and donor relations
• Demonstrated professional knowledge of the humanitarian/development/peacebuilding sectors at both policy and operational level
• Demonstrated experience with initiating, planning, and executing projects in the relevant sector
• Experience with personnel administration, preferably from international work

• Duty station: Oslo, Norway (flexibility within the region can be considered)

• Travel: up to 20%
