You have:

  • Fluency in Tamil is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Some experience in teaching would be preferable but not mandatory.
  • Availability to teach two consecutive days for one hour.

We are looking for volunteers to conduct online English classes via Skype for children and youth in Ponnai, Tamil Nadu, India. Volunteers best suited for this opportunity are those who can converse in Tamil and fluent English. Classes are from Monday-Saturday. Classes are held between 5:30 to 8.30 pm IST.Class duration is for an hour. The online volunteer will be required to teach the students two consecutive days, 1 hour per session. Please apply only if these timings are suitable for you. We do not accept applicants without a CV. Orientation will be given to all the volunteers. Selected applicants will be interviewed via Skype or phone.

    Offering online English classes is part of our literacy project for children and youth.Focus on developing English skills and further increase the confidence of in English communication We focus on improving the quality of education for the disadvantaged children in developing countries. Volunteers will teach English and instill confidence to pursue their goals.

  • 1-5 hours per week / 26 weeks

    Fluency in Tamil and English is required as the children and youth are beginners. Some experience in teaching would be well looked upon but not necessary. We prefer online volunteers with compassion and commitment because the children bond with the volunteers, they consider them as a friend as well as a mentor.
