You have:

- Some experience in teaching is preferred but not necessary.

We are looking for online volunteers to conduct online English classes via Skype for children and youth in St Joseph's High School. These are orphaned and semi orphaned children, they come from broken families and do not know English. Online Volunteers must be able to converse in Telugu and English. Classes are conducted from Monday-Saturday between 6 -7 pm IST. Online Volunteers will be required to teach for one hour on two consecutive days at a mutually agreed time and date. Orientation and training will be given, access to syllabus will be given to all the volunteers. If you have the skills, the time and the compassion, then you are best suited for this opportunity. Offering online English classes is part of our literacy project for children and youth. We aim to develop English skills and further increase their confidence of communicating in English. We focus on improving spoken and written English for the disadvantaged children in developing countries. Each online volunteer's contribution will help to improve their English and instill confidence to pursue their goals.
Volunteers: 8 needed
1-5 hours per week / 26 weeks
Fluency in Telugu and English is mandatory as the students are at beginners level. Some experience in teaching would be preferred but not necessary. We prefer online volunteers who are motivated & committed because the children consider the volunteers as their teacher, mentor, and a friend. Only candidates who are committed and are fluent in both Telugu and English should apply.
