Compliance Analyst - Data Privacy

What We Do

The Business Risk and Compliance Department (CBR) is responsible for setting business standards and providing advice and guidance to the IFC Board, Management, and business teams in relation to certain non-financial business risks that may arise in IFC investments, advisory work, and corporate functions. These non-financial risks include internal risks, such as data privacy, operational conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and data access governance, as well as external risks such as corruption, fraud, and know-your customer (KYC) issues, anti-money-laundering (AML/CFT), economic sanctions, tax good governance, and market conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Privacy

• Analyze privacy risk assessments submitted to the Data Privacy Office (DPO) in CBR and provide advice and guidance to business teams regarding mitigating and managing privacy risks in IFC projects.

• Identify, interpret and track key performance indicators for privacy reporting to IFC Management and the IFC Board of Directors; including working with the IT department to automate privacy reporting.

• Analyze data in One Trust, CBR’s privacy management software, to troubleshoot technical issues, identify areas that merit system enhancements and understand trends in privacy requests from business teams.

• Draft DPO training tools and materials (e.g., PowerPoint decks, tip sheets, e-learning courses, infographics).

• Deliver training.

• Lead bi-weekly virtual office hours for IFC’s internal network of Privacy Coordinators made up of staff across IFC’s departments who serve as liaisons with the DPO.

• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Chief Data Privacy Officer.

CBR Data, Knowledge Management and Other Support

• Support CBR Management on data-related matters, including conducting data analysis, handling data access requests and automating data processes.

• In collaboration with CBR colleagues, develop and execute training and capacity building programs on CBR topics.

• Design and maintain CBR’s intranet pages.

• Conduct research and data analysis for CBR business units and develop reports and dashboards, as needed.

• Provide additional support, to include editing CBR’s policies and procedures, tip sheets.

• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will bring the following qualities and capabilities to this position:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with 2-3 years of experience working on privacy matters in an international organization.

• Working knowledge of privacy laws, regulations and industry best practice and an understanding of the impact of privacy regulation on international organizations and their operations.

• Demonstrated experience implementing a privacy program at an international organization.

• Hands on experience with the OneTrust privacy management software.

• At least one International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certification.

• Good practical knowledge and experience of IFC’s or World Bank Group’s operations a plus.

• Solid professional judgement and ability to convey privacy matters in simple and concise language.

• Proven data and analytics experience, such as track record of generating regular reports, data collection, analysis and synthesis, and/or creating reporting dashboards.

• Superior ability to structure and create presentations and synthesize complex issues in an attractive and impactful format; including advanced Canva and PowerPoint skills.

• Previous experience delivering training a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results.

• Detail oriented and organized, able to multi-task and interact with multidisciplinary teams at different levels of seniority, and able to work in a very fast paced environment.

• Fluency in English.
