Under the direct supervision of the designated UNDP Project Officer, the Community Support Volunteer will contribute to the successful planning and implementation of the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) initiative in St. Elizabeth. The volunteer will support community outreach and mobilization activities prior to the event, assist with event operations during implementation, and contribute to post-event activities to ensure the efficient delivery of services to community members. The volunteer will work closely with UNDP, government agencies, local authorities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to facilitate an inclusive, well-organized, and welcoming environment for participants accessing essential services
Community Outreach and Mobilization (Pre-event) ● Conduct community outreach activities to raise awareness of the Technical Assistance Centre. ● Inform residents about the purpose of the initiative, event dates, venue, available services, and eligibility requirements where applicable. ● Encourage participation among community members, particularly vulnerable and underserved populations. ● Distribute promotional and informational materials within assigned communities. ● Engage with community leaders, local organizations, and other stakeholders to support community mobilization efforts. ● Provide feedback to the project team regarding community concerns, needs, and anticipated attendance. ● Support logistical preparations leading up to the event.
Event Implementation: ● Welcome participants and create a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment. ● Support participant registration and maintain accurate attendance records. ● Assist participants in completing registration forms or digital registration processes. ● Provide directions and guide participants to the appropriate service providers and booths. ● Answer general questions regarding the event and available services. ● Assist elderly persons, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and other participants requiring additional support. ● Support crowd flow and queue management to ensure an orderly and safe environment. ● Assist with the administration of online or paper-based participant satisfaction and evaluation surveys. ● Assist government agencies, service providers, and partner organizations with basic operational needs during the event. ● Replenish informational materials and supplies at registration areas and service booths. ● Serve as runners by delivering documents, materials, and supplies between event locations and stakeholders. ● Monitor participant needs and promptly communicate operational issues to the event coordination team. ● Promote professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful interactions with all participants.
Event Logistics: ● Assist with venue preparation, including the setup of tables, chairs, signage, registration areas, and informational displays. ● Support distribution and organization of event materials and supplies. ● Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of activity areas throughout the event. ● Assist with dismantling equipment and packing materials following the event. ● Report logistical issues requiring attention to the project team. Post-event Support ● Assist with organizing and inventorying event materials. ● Support the collection and submission of participant feedback and monitoring information. ● Participate in post-event debriefings and share observations to support continuous improvement.
Other Responsibilities: ● Participate in orientation sessions, briefings, and training activities organized by UNDP. ● Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the values and principles of the United Nations and the United Nations Volunteers programme. ● Maintain confidentiality of participant information and project data. ● Comply with all safety, safeguarding, and operational procedures. ● Perform other related duties, within the scope of the assignment, as requested by the supervisor to support the successful implementation of the Technical Assistance Centre.

Volunteers are advised to observe standard safety precautions and familiarize themselves with local customs and community practices to ensure a positive volunteer experience
