You have:

  • Minimum experience, at least 1 year.

  • Good facilitation and sensitization skills.
  • Understand psychological first aid and ready to support upon needs.

DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.

About the job

The community mobilisers will be conducting project location activities under protection component. Built trust with the community and enhance good relationship with the community members. Community mobilisers will be acting as main protection community facing focal points within their area. They will be sharing protection concerns and safely identify/disclosure and refer individuals facing protection risks (CP, GBV and GP) and share it with the relevant DRC staff for their follow up. Conduct CB-PSS activities, fill individual surveys and support in the provision of the awareness and sensitization activities within their community

Responsibilities:

  • Attend capacity building training as requested by DRC.
  • Share Protection trends and refer identified cases.
  • Filling surveys and assessment on a regularly basis
  • Support in Conducting Focus Group Discussions
  • Deliver CB-PSS activities to the affected children and their caregivers.
  • Establish and maintain good relationship with targeted community members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular reporting of the protection activities
  • Conduct awareness sessions and disseminate key messages among the community members.
  • Disseminate updated Service mapping and referral pathways at community level,
  • Adhere to DRC code of Conduct and Prevention from Sexual exploitation and abuse.

About you

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., social sciences, statistics, data science) preferred
  • Previous experience with an humanitarian organization preferred
  • Minimum experience, at least 1 year
  • Good knowledge of the area and overall context,
  • Good understanding for protection and child protection principles;
  • Good team spirit and communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure

  • Community mobilizers are not considered DRC staff and will work on voluntary basis
