The local office and workspace is located in Tunis. The capital of Tunisia offers a modern environment with diverse cultural experiences and warm hospitality. Services in terms of banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. However, it's worth noting that public transportation, road infrastructure and administrative facilities may not be very accessible to people with disabilities.

While Arabic is the official language, French is commonly spoken, facilitating ease of communication. The road infrastructure is well-developed, and taxis are accessible for transportation. Accommodation options are plentiful, although prices have seen an upward trend in recent years. The overall security situation is stable, and Tunisia provides a safe living environment. Additionally, Tunisia is serviced by an international airport with connections to major cities.

According to the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS), Tunisia is classified as a family duty station. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, volunteers are responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials, with support provided through the national UN Volunteers program.
