Job Description Job Title: Community Health and Nutrition Officer Band/ Level / Grade: 8B Department: Health and Nutrition programs Location: Yemen / Hodeida with frequent visits for IRC supported field sites (70% of work time at the field)

Scope of Work: IRC is seeking a highly motivated person who will take overall responsibility for coordinating, leading and implementing the day-to-day activities of RH & CNH components of integrated Nutrition & Health program ensuring all activities are addressed on its time with high impact.

Job Summary The CHN Officer will play a central role in leading the community-based Health and Nutrition, reproductive health activities implementation including maternal and neonatal health care. The placeholder will also be the focal point for running quality reproductive health care and community-based Nutrition and health care services in the field level. The postholder will be implementing the action plan and following up field staff, Preparing the Monthly and Timely reports to H&N manager, leading the technical staff with frequent visits to the field for ensuring the quality of services provided in the targeted HFs, BemONC centers, and communities in Hodeida Governorate. The postholder is also taking the responsibility for the coordination with authorities and key partners at the local level to ensure the smooth implementation of program activities of the IRC projects.

Working Relations: 1. Regular & open communication on day-to-day tasks with HN manager, Senior field manager and technical managers. 2. Work internally with: Health & Nutrition program team, Program quality and support teams. 3. Work externally with HWs, CHVs, CMW, HFs manager, DHO manager and GHO officials.

Responsibilities: - Ensure implementation of RH and CHN activities in support of the Manager, develop regular work plans, and reports, and assist in the development of budget forecasts and spending plans. - Coordinates the implementation of workplan for Reproductive Health and Community Midwives’ activities, in line with the IRC results framework and donor guidelines. - Provide technical support and guidance to health service providers on comprehensive reproductive health services in PHC facilities including the BemONC services, Antenatal care, post-Natal care and FP methods. - Ensure that activities are carried out as outlined in the activity plan, following standard processes, and aligned to the MOPHP protocols and National/international health service delivery guidelines. - Ensure infection control and universal precautions are adhered to at the health facilities. - Conduct on-job training to midwives and other staff during service delivery when requested to do so. - Supporting the Coordination efforts with health authorities, community leaders and other implementing partners and represent IRC and represent the IRC in relevant health clusters, coordination and technical meetings. - Collaborated closely with the HN manager to provide updates on the program, discuss emerging challenges, and collaborate on the design of new programs or changes to existing programs. - Ensure fields report formats are used properly and all reports are submitted on time, followed up on, and finalized in a timely manner and support where issues arise to mentor and improve over time. - Procurement Planning and follow-up and coordinate the delivery of the basic program supported items to the health centers. - Work closely with the field teams to allocate the operational needs of the RH and community health interventions. - Ensure timely completion of activities against workplan timelines. - Works with CHVs at community level to plan, coordinate and organize for community mobilization activities and ensure the Integration of community activities with health & nutrition interventions in HFs. - Coordinate and facilitate the CHVs work at community for identification and referral of suspected cases of malnutrition. - leading on the awareness raising and nutrition promotion activities at HFs and community levels. - Conduct regular follow-up field visits to support and coordinate program activities implementation at the targeted areas. - Timely collection and reviewing data of health program and keeping quality data management system for RH & CHN. - Maintain detailed RH & CHN program activities records and up to data paperwork both in soft and hard copies and provides activity reports once required by IRC and the donor timely. - Carry out any other responsibilities as requested by the line manager.
