ROLE PROFILE

TITLE: Community Facilitator (Child Protection-MHPSS)

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3- The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

To facilitate the effective and successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of gender responsive programme activities in assigned camps and rural/urban areas - in collaboration with the Project Assistant and Project Coordinator. To conduct regular montioring at assigned areas to alert for all protection cases, to support children and community members in accessing services and receiving proper case and follow up service providers.To conduct trainings, meetings, awareness sessions, MHPSS activities in assigned camp area, and supervise mobile CFS volunteers. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

• To collaborate with CP project staff and community members to deliver tailored MHPSS and activities to address the psychosocial needs of children and families, providing PFA, safe recognition of child protection concern and safe referral and promote child development and well-being.

• Coaching and mentoring animators in implementing MHPSS services through mobile Group Pschosocial Support to children and families in conflict affected or hard-to-reach areas.

• Coaching and mentoring Group PSS Facilitators in dissemination of key mental health messages to children, their families, communities, and other stakeholders to raise awareness on the child mental health and wellbeing in the crisis context.

• Assist in preparing reports on MHPSS program activities, progress, and challenges to inform project management.

• To coordinate with local authorities and community members to facilitate the smooth operation of mobile Group PSS activities.

• Ensure the quality of child protection services to children and the community.

• To oversee the planning and implementation of mobile Group PSS activities to ensure they are child-friendly and meet the needs of the affected children.

• Ensure that the mobile Group PSS is a safe and welcoming environment for children.

• To collect and document cases of child protection concern, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• To work closely with the Child Protection team to address and resolve cases effectively.

• To participate in relevant meetings and networks to stay informed about best practices and new developments in the field.

• To prepare the report for mobile Group PSS activities

• Assist supervisor for monthly /quarterly workplan and reporting process

• Keep records of activities, and report to supervisor regularly and as requested on programme progress

• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor and manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
