You have:

  • High school or equivalent education, University Degree is preferable.
  • One-year professional working experience especially in development sector is preferable.

TITLE: COMMUNITY FACILITATOR TEAM/PROGRAM: Child-Centered Community Development Programme (Sponsorship-funded programme) Location: Hpaan Township, Kayin State Number of Position: 1 Grade: NAT - 6 CONTRACT LENGTH: FIX TERM

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Under the management and supervision of Project Assistant to facilitate the effective and successful planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of CCCDP programs including ECCD, BE, SHN, AD activities in the Township and villages/wards assigned in collaboration with the Project.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

• Reports to: Project Assistant (CCCDP) • Staff reporting to this post: Nil • Budget Responsibilities: Nil • External Representation: Regular contact of basic factual information. • Travel: Frequent (over 10 days per month) to visit other project townships

Key Areas of Accountability: 1. Perform the activities and tasks assigned by child-centered community development (CCCDP) program. 2. Ensure community mobilization and facilitate community-based project activities including health and education for children of age birth to 18 years old through regular interaction with children and community members, including providing training, guidance, and support. 3. Enhance the participation of children, young people, and the community in the project, as well as to take steps to ensure that the program benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged children. 4. Collect and document the data of children from project villages. 5. Ensure reporting of accurate data and documents to supervisor and assisting the listing of data for program activities. 6. Monitor and document the progress of project activities in geographic area/s of assignment and report and inform to supervisor as necessary. 7. Regular visit to project villages and keep in touch with village authorities, local community, core group committee, families, parents, and children as a communication focal. 8. Regular monitoring trip to villages where the project is located to make sure facilitation and overseeing the activities. 9. Assist in community mobilization activities. 10. Participate, assist and support to conduct training, workshop and event provided by CCCDP program in assigned project areas. 11. Collaborate and support for the assessment, research, and base line/end line activities under the project plan. 12. Keep records of activities, and report regularly and as requested on program progress. 13. Participate actively in awareness raising activities to community. 14. Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

PERSON SPECIFICATION • High school or equivalent education, University Degree is preferable • One-year professional working experience especially development sector is preferable • Professional working experience with international organizations preferable • Proven team working ability and good communication skills • Computer proficiency (or at least willingness to learn) • Ability to live and travel in remote locations, high risk area and (where relevant) ability to speak language • Ability to work under high pressure and conflict sensitive situations • Interest & willingness to learn from community • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles. • A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation, and non-discrimination
