You have:

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community mobilization, preferably in HIV/AIDS programs.
  • Strong understanding of cultural dynamics and community structures in Sierra Leone or similar settings.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Community Engagement Specialist will lead efforts to mobilize and empower communities to support HIV prevention, care, and treatment initiatives. This role involves developing culturally sensitive strategies to ensure community buy-in, participation, and sustainability of program interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies that align with program objectives.
  • Foster partnerships with community leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS in communities.
  • Design and facilitate community awareness campaigns on HIV prevention and care.
  • Build the capacity of community health workers to deliver effective services.
  • Monitor and evaluate community engagement activities and provide feedback for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, or a related field.
