You have:
- Minimum age: 25 years old.
- Master degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as social science or public health.
- At least 2 years of professional work experience in community engagement, campaigning, or public health.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
- Excellent oral and written skills, ability to work inclusively.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and office technology.
Contract
This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Child Protection Specialist (C4D) or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer for supporting the national campaign will:
- Assist in the implementation of community engagement activities, in coordination with stakeholders and partner entities as needed:
- Develop and implement activities that will increase reach and impact of the key messages about healthy habits to reduce covid-19 cases in Jordan;
- Recommend strategies and implement community engagement activities effectively (keeping in mind the local context);
- Provide on-ground support to design and multi-media companies to come up to with creative;
- Document the progress and impact and following-up as needed: gather testimonials from the participants;
- Support the ongoing national campaign by suggesting new pathways to adapt based on community’s response and carry-out social listening;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
- Advanced higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant area, e.g. social science, public health or area related to behavioral and social norms change; a first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree;
Required experience:

Experience remark:
- At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in community engagement, campaigning, or public health, or other relevant programmes; experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Sound security awareness;
- Have affinity with or interest in Child Rights, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
