Serve as a catalyst, partnership broker, and build capacity at the community level.

You have:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in development interventions
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field will be preferable
  • Strong understanding of community-led development work particularly community mobilization
  • Basic understanding of design, monitoring, and evaluation
  • At least three years’ previous relevant experience, including at least one year of development facilitation in and with communities
  • Computer skills
  • Understanding poverty and community empowerment approaches to development
  • Good communication skills (and local knowledge)
  • English language skills (reading and writing)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Data collection in community settings
  • Conflict Mitigation and Negotiation skills
  • Rural participatory Appraisal skills and mobilizing skills
  • Ability to work in and across diverse cultures
  • Networking skills
  • Resource mobilizing skills

The key purpose of the CDF position to serve as a catalyst, partnership broker, and builder of capacity of the community at the village level, facilitating the emergence and strengthening of community-led initiatives to improve and sustain the well-being of children and their families. The position will be based in CPO with 75% of time spent in communities. The CDF may at times perform duties outside of the tasks specified in the JD. The CDF is also expected to commit to the Biblical principle of “walking an extra mile”; sacrificing time for community work without further reward may be required at times.
