  • 2-4 years experience in Community Development interventions
  • Minimum Community Development Graduate SINU with Diploma in Community Development (CYP) or 3-5 years working in community development interventions
  • Computer Skills
  • Understanding poverty and community empowerment approaches to development
  • Good communication (local knowledge)
  • English (Read and Write)
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Recent Experience in working with community project

The World Vision in partnership with UN-Habitat is implementing the

Enhancing urban resilience to climate change impacts and natural disasters Honiara

project in 5 communities in Honiara, Solomon Islands. With the project, which is being implemented this year, there is position for community facilitators for the project. The purpose of this position is to lead the project implementation in the communities. With it he/she will enhance knowledge and capacity of all community members and advocate for behavior change on Water, Sanitation and hygiene behaviors as well as DRR preparedness and Climate Change Resilience

This position will also ensure sustainable impact with ownership of project interventions beyond learning and acquiring knowledge and result in sustainable meaningful changes in improving knowledge and practice in World Vision Solomon Islands with partners such as UNHABITAT, RMIT will build upon the work of the Resilience Honiara project to enhance the capacity of the 5 communities to prepare, respond and build back better in times of Disasters. The Community Development facilitator (CDF) will Support the Project Coordinator to implement, plan, evaluate and report on all project activities. Furthermore he/she will perform tasks designated in order to achieve programmatic objectives and goals. She/he will work under the direction of the coordinator. This role requires about 100% of time spent in Honiara.

  • Project planning and implementation
  • Communication mobilization and engagement
  • Project monitoring, learning and reporting

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION:
